Central Coast Comicon is happy to welcome attendees, exhibitors, volunteers, performers, and celebrity guests to an amazing one-day exhilarating experience, not to be missed! It is important that you have as much information as possible so that you don't miss out on anything. Below is a list of commonly asked questions.
 
There will be plenty of staff on hand on the day to assist with queries. The grounds are wheelchair accessible and there is designated car parking.

WHAT ARE THE HOURS OF COMICON?

Gates open at 11 am

Entertainment will conclude at 4:30 pm and event will close at 5:00 pm

HOW DO I BUY TICKETS?

Go to our tickets page where you will find links to our ticketing platform. 

 

HOW MUCH DO TICKETS COST?
  • CHILD 5 yrs and under FREE

  • YOUTH 17 yrs and under  $15 ticket

  • ADULT Over 18+ $25 ticket

  • FAMILY PASS ( 2x Adult 2x Youth) $60 

  • MATES PASS (3x Adults) $60 

 

CAN I BUY TICKETS AT THE DOOR?

Yes, however the cash and card queue is always the longest. You won't have to wait long too long if you pre-purchase online.

DO I HAVE TO PAY IF I AM A SUPPORT WORKER ASSISTING A PARTICIPANT/CLIENT?

Support workers or those with a registered companion card will have free entry if they are accompanying a participant or client to the event. Please show your company ID or Client Companion Card at the entrance to the event. 

 

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I GET TO THE EVENT?

If you have a prepurchased ticket, the QR code on your ticket will be scanned at the gate entrance, you will be issued with your wristband and walk straight in and start your day of fun and excitement.

If you wish to purchase a ticket you will have to queue and we will have staff on hand to make this process as quick as possible. We can take cash or EFTPOS at the gate - the ATM is inside the grounds so ensure you bring cash with you - nearest ATM in Gosford.

 

WHAT ABOUT KIDS? DO THEY NEED TICKETS?

Kids under 5 are free however for online purchases select the free ticket and they will need to wear a wristband. 

 

WHAT IF I HAVE PURCHASED TICKETS BUT NOT RECEIVED THEM?
Our ticketing partner for 2024 is Ticketebo. If you need your tickets re-issued please visit their website at the following link:

WHAT’S THE REFUND POLICY?

Tickets to Comicon are non-refundable. 

 

WHAT DO I DO IF I FIND/LOSE SOMETHING?

If you lose something at the event please visit Comicon HQ or follow the "Information" signs located near the entrance of the event. All lost property will be lodged here. 

 

WHAT ABOUT MY COSPLAY PROPS?

Head to our Cosplay Prop Policy page to read what is allowed and what is not. Failure to follow this policy may result in your removal from the convention without a refund. There is no supervised storage for props. All weapons will be checked and tagged at the gate.

 

CAN I BRING MY WEAPON?

Please see our weapons policy. You can bring cosplay weapons, these will be checked by our staff before entry.

 
CAN YOU WATCH MY KIDS WHILE I EXPLORE?

Sorry Comicon does not provide child care services.

 

CAN I BRING MY PET?

If you have pets, please leave them at home. Only service or companion animals are allowed.  

 

CAN I BRING MY OWN FOOD OR ALCOHOL OR DRUGS?

No food, alcohol or drugs will be permitted at Comicon. Food will be for sale at the venue.

HOW DO I GET THERE FROM THE TRAIN STATION?

There is a FREE SHUTTLE BUS running from the train station to the venue and back all day (every 10 mins) from the entrance to the venue. It will be clearly signposted. The shuttle bus pick up/drop off zone is located at Gosford Station on the Hospital side of the station.  This is a FREE SERVICE. 

THE SHUTTLE BUS SERVICE WILL OPERATE FROM 

10:30 AM - 6:00 PM

IS THERE SOMEWHERE I CAN STORE MY PERSONAL BELONGINGS?

For the first time ever we are offering a cloakroom service where you can store your personal belongings for the event. This is a cost of $5 per person with funds raised going to RYSS. 

WHAT WILL I HAVE TO PAY FOR AT THE SHOW?

Your ticket covers your entry into the show, the on-stage performers and all the FREE activities. All merchandise purchases, food, drinks and some of the vendor experiences will be available at a cost. There are lots of FREE things to do! 

 

CAN I USE MY OWN CAMERA AT THE EVENT?

If you wish to take photos in an official capacity you will need to apply for a Media Pass.   When you have applied you will be allocated a media pass that you can pick up from the Comicon Sit office on the day of the event.  You will need to follow our event etiquette guidelines while taking photos at the event.  

 

 
IS THERE A PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER?

Yes, there will be a professional 360 video booth and photo backdrops so you can take your own photos in fantasy scenes. 

 

WILL I BE ON CAMERA IF I ATTEND?

We attract local, national and international press to our Comicon event. In purchasing your ticket and in consideration for being admitted to the event, the holder consents to be recorded (by audio, visual and/or other means) for exhibition and exploitation by any means in all media now known or hereafter devised worldwide in perpetuity. Holder also hereby: (1) releases RYSS from any liability for loss or damage to persons or property, infringement of any right or any other claim or course of action of any kind; (2) authorises and permits RYSS and its designees which include but are not limited to all sponsors, exhibitors and contractors to use and authorise the use of his/her name, voice, likeness and all reproductions thereof by any means and in all media now and hereafter know for all purposes worldwide in perpetuity; and (3) agrees to comply with all rules and regulations of the event. We reserve the right to deny entry or remove from the event facilities any person who in our sole and absolute discretion is behaving or threatening to behave in a manner that we reasonably consider to be disruptive to the event or persons at the event. 

 
THIS IS MY FIRST COMICON, WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

Comicon will have something for everybody. The main areas we feature at the event are various forms of gaming, comics, movie and television, animation and anime, cosplay and costuming! You will be able to browse through all of our fantastic retailers or participate in one of our speciality workshops from Manga drawing classes to lightsaber lessons! 

 

IS THERE A CHANGING ROOM?
Yes, there will be a changing area available in the cospitality  lounge. We have a cloakroom with a small donation fee where we can store your items - left at your own risk.

 

IS THERE A CASH FACILITY? 
No, there is no ATM onsite this year - All our Vendors will have card payment facilities or bring cash with you. 

 

IS THE VENUE WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE?

Yes, the majority of areas are accessible by wheelchair, including the stage (for cosplay comp) and the toilets. The Entertainment Grounds is an ALL-INCLUSIVE - ALL-ACCESS VENUE. 

WHERE DO I PARK?

See the Parking map above - Please consider public transport and using our FREE SHUTTLE BUS Service for Gosford Train Station to Main Gate Service. Shuttle Bus running from 10:30 am - 6:00 pm 

IS THERE DISABILITY CAR PARKING?

Yes, there is a disability car parking onsite. You can enter the disability car park through the first driveway entrance on Faunce Street W.  There will be a traffic control at the entrance to direct you.  A disability parking permit will be required to use this space. You will need to exit the disability car park at the side gate and enter the venue through the main gate entrance. We only have one gate entrance for the event this year.  

 

WHO RUNS CENTRAL COAST COMICON?

CC Comicon is run by Regional Youth Support Services. We are a Central Coast-based youth charity and CC Comicon is our major annual fundraiser. All proceeds from CC Comicon directly go back into the Central Coast Community to provide help and support for our young people.  For more information on this amazing youth service click HERE

 

event anti-harrassment policy

 

We take our Anti-Harassment, Personal Safety & Cosplay Policy seriously. Central Coast  Comicon has a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY for harassment of any kind. 

Remember: Cosplay is not consent.

Keep your hands to yourself. If you would like to take a picture with or of another Central Coast  Comicon Fan, always ask first and respect that person's right to say no. When at Central Coast  Comicon, be respectful, be nice, be cool and be kind to each other.

 

Sexual harassment is unwelcome sexual conduct which makes a person feel offended, humiliated and/or intimidated where that reaction is reasonable in the circumstances.

Sexual harassment can take various forms. It can involve:

  • unwelcome touching, hugging or kissing;

  • staring or leering;

  • suggestive comments or jokes;

  • unnecessary familiarity;

  • behaviour which would also be an offence under the criminal law, such as physical assault, indecent exposure, sexual assault, stalking or obscene communications.

  •  

Central Coast  Comicon has a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY for harassment of any kind, including but not limited to: stalking; intimidation; offensive verbal comments; physical assault and/or battery; harassing or non-consensual photography or recording; sustained disruption of panels, signings and other events; bathroom policing; inappropriate physical contact; unwelcome physical attention. In relation to, but not limited to: race, colour, national origin, gender, gender identity, gender presentation, sexual orientation, age, body size, disability, appearance, religion, citizenship, pregnancy.

 

If a person engages in harassing behaviour, Central Coast  Comicon Staff will take prompt action in any form they deem appropriate, including expulsion from Central Coast  Comicon with no refund. Our policy applies to EVERYONE at the convention. Exhibitors, Fans (Attendees), Speakers, Guests, Media, Staff, Volunteers and Security are all subject to our anti-harassment policy.

 

Anyone can report harassment. If someone’s behaviour has made you uncomfortable or if you witness the same happening to someone else, you should immediately contact Central Coast  Comicon's Security Team, Staff Member or Volunteer. If necessary, we will contact local law enforcement, provide escort, offer a safe place or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to make sure they feel safe for the rest of Central Coast  Comicon.

We want you to not only have the most amazing day  Comicon.ever, but to experience it in an environment where you are safe and accepted. As Fans ourselves, we understand the importance of creating a safe space for everyone who attends Central Coast 

Anti-harassment

CC Comicon Weapons Policy

Weapons Suitability will be decided upon by the Organisers of Central Coast Comic Convention (hereafter known as the Organisers) and the Gosford Showground staff.

 

General

  • Weapons must be props. No real weapons are allowed and all weapons must be easily recognisable as props. 

  • No weapons over 2 metres in length. 

  • Weapons deemed unsuitable will be tagged and placed in storage and returned once the session is over.

  • Each weapon will be assessed and tagged to show that it is suitable. The tag where possible will be placed so as not to be overtly visible in photographs.

 

Rifles and Guns

  • No real weapons are permitted

  • Guns and rifles must have their ‘red’ or ‘orange’ tips in place – weapons including Nerf weapons must be non-firing – Nerf weapons MAY be able to fire BUT no Nerf Bullets are permitted.

 

 

Swords and Knives

  • No real weapons allowed

  • Swords and Knives must be of plastic or rubber construction

  • Swords and Knives must have no real sharp edges or points

  • No sword play allowed

  • Each weapon will be tagged to show that it has been assessed and is suitable. The tag where possible will be placed so as not to be overtly visible in photographs.

 

 

 

Bows and Cross Bows

  • No real weapons allowed

  • Bows and Cross Bows must be non-firing

  • If a weapon is ‘stringed’ then no arrows or bolts must be present. If arrows or bolts are part of the costume. then the weapon must be ‘de-stringed’

  • Nerf weapons must be non-firing. Each weapon will be tagged to show that it has been assessed and is suitable. The tag where possible will be placed so as not to be overtly visible in photographs.

 

 

In every aspect please use good judgement regarding weapon props.
